I slowly looked at Kenneth.
“You did this before.”
Rachel nodded.
“He didn’t marry me because he loved me.”
Her eyes moved toward Patricia.
“They chose me because I had money.”
Patricia’s face twisted.
“That’s ridiculous.”
Rachel reached into her purse.
“No.”
She removed several printed emails.
“I kept these.”
My attorney handed one to me.
The sender was Patricia.
The recipient was Kenneth.
The date was twelve years earlier.
Rachel trusts you now. Stop rushing her. Once the wedding happens, she’ll be easier to control.
My stomach turned.
Almost the same words I had overheard yesterday.
This wasn’t a desperate plan.
It was a pattern.
I looked at Kenneth.
“How many women?”
His silence answered me.
Rachel did instead.
“At least three that I know about.”
A shocked murmur moved through the guests.
Kenneth’s best man stared at him.
“Three?”
Kenneth suddenly became angry.
