Ray looked at him.
“Who has administrator access?”
Dustin’s smile disappeared.
Ray answered his own question.
“Me and your uncle.”
That changed the room.
I turned toward Dustin.
“What was in the folder?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You tried to take it from her.”
“You can’t even see that.”
“I can see enough.”
He pushed away from the doorway.
“You came here looking for something to blame on me.”
“No,” I said. “I came here angry.”
That stopped him.
“And that was my mistake.”
He stared.
I continued.
“My daughter asked me not to make this worse. I didn’t listen. I drove here because I thought protecting her meant confronting you.”
Ray watched me closely.
“And now?” he asked.
“Now I’m going to the hospital.”
Dustin gave a short laugh.
“You finally figured it out.”
“Yes.”
I faced him.
“I did.”
