The coach knew my name—but what he revealed about Dustin changed how I could protect my daughter - usnews

He owned a towing company, two warehouses, and several rental properties.

He had been investigated twice for financial irregularities and charged with nothing.

People feared him mostly because Frank enjoyed letting people believe he had more influence than he actually did.

Ray had accepted his help because banks would not loan him enough money.

Over time, Frank became increasingly involved.

“He doesn’t own the gym,” Ray said. “But he acts like he does.”

“And Vale?”

“Frank’s accountant.”

That connected almost everything.

Almost.

“What does Blue Harbor Promotions do?”

Ray went silent again.

“Where did you hear that name?”

“We have a check.”

Another pause.

“Ray?”

“Blue Harbor is Dustin’s management company.”

Marcy stood so fast that her chair scraped the floor.

“What?”

“Dustin owns it?”

“No. Frank does.”

Now the structure was becoming clear.

Money came into the gym.

Some of it moved to a company using Ray’s name.
