A grave space at St Osyth’s is held under a deed of exclusive right of burial. Alwyn Creed is the registered owner of that deed and has been since 1958, and he has the paper, in a tin, in his room.

The owner of the deed can give written instructions about who is to be buried in it, including himself. There is a form. It costs nothing.

He did not need a wife. He needed a form and somebody to post it.
