“It’s tactical camouflage.”
“Dinosaurs don’t need tactical camouflage.”
“You don’t know that.”
“Yes, I do.”
Maya laughed.
The captain’s voice came over the intercom.
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard Flight 417.”
Maya’s smile disappeared.
Ethan slowly looked up.
Leo’s eyes widened.
“No way.”
For two seconds, all three stared at one another.
Then the captain continued cheerfully:
“We’re expecting smooth conditions across the Atlantic and an early arrival in Madrid.”
Leo exhaled dramatically.
Ethan whispered:
“Maybe we should have checked the flight number.”
Maya shook her head.
“You were supposed to book the tickets.”
“I did.”
“And somehow you chose Flight 417?”
“It was cheaper.”
Maya stared at him.
Ethan shrugged.
“Single-parent household budgeting habits rubbed off on me.”
She tried not to laugh.
Failed.
Outside the window, something appeared.
A fighter jet.
Maya froze.
Ethan leaned toward the glass.
The jet moved alongside them.
