“He searched for you.”
I couldn’t breathe.

“He thought you disappeared because you didn’t want him.”
Tears blurred my vision.
“That’s not true.”

“He never stopped looking.”
I heard footsteps.
Iris returned carrying two glasses of water.
She looked between us.
