That night, we made one new family rule. Surprises were okay. But no adult would ever tell Ben he had to keep something from his parents.
And I learned something too.
Sometimes the scene that looks terrifying from the hallway has a completely innocent explanation behind the door.
But when it comes to your child, you should never feel guilty for opening that door.
