The Absence Prompted Blunt Reactions
News that President Donald Trump was not expected at Ground Zero quickly drew responses focused on both his New York roots and the reported disagreement over speaking.
On Instagram, one commenter wrote, "Shocker..." Another person believed the decision revealed something deeper, commenting, "That should say everything 😢"
Someone else pointed directly to the geographical connection that made the absence so conspicuous: "The only one from NY isn’t going???" A person reacting on Facebook reduced the situation to a single sharp word: "Sulking."
